I HAVE GRAND GRAND GRAND WÜNDERBAR NEWS

They caught the burglar!
He confessed to it (?) and was out on probation from a previous burglary (WTF)
But they caught him! YAY 4 PRESSING CHARGES
My family's getting most of our stuff back, including my Explorer guitar. :heart:

Except, the court needs everything as evidence, and there's no telling when the court date will be....
and as thankful as I am that the police force worked so hard on this, why do they need to hold onto things that have no DNA evidence on them? The guy confessed, so this seems like a really really idiotic process...
I want my stuff back...

Well, we had two neighbouring counties on his tail. He's apparently a repeat offender (beyond that probation sentence), and stayed within city limits.

I'm not complaining about the time, though. Honestly, i thought that this would take months, and that i'd never see any of that stuff ever again. It's not their price, it was their sentimental value that made it hard to lose a lot of that stuff (especially the camera with all the vacation pictures on it).

We're doing all we can to send him up the river.
There's a fine line between forgiveness and stupidity - at any time during the break-in his 'senses' could have come to him and he could drop our stuff and walk out the door instead of filching everything...
